UUANJ maintains the prestigious accolade of being a UroLift center of excellence since 2017. Dr Mukaram Gazi is the founding member of UUANJ where he serves as the Director of Men’s Health and UroOncology.
UroLift is a state of the art procedure designed to treat symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate; a condition referred to as BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia). The prostate is a walnut sized gland that surrounds the urethra and is located right below the bladder; therefore, an enlarged prostate constricts the urethra and causes a wide variety of symptoms including blockage in urine flow, leaking, frequent urination and pain or burning sensation while urinating.
The UroLift procedure involves inserting a delivery device through the urethra to access the enlarged prostate and to deliver the UroLift implants. The implants hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way relieving the pressure on the constricted urethra.
